Job Summary

This temporary per diem position is, to provide continued support to the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice (CNSJ) with its payer Community Behavioral Health (CBH) billing for CNSJ's Healing Hurt People program. Jayeanne Clinefelter was soley responsible for working with Healing Hurt People staff and its EDI module in the Penelope system, including maintaining related system tables, tasked with the monthly charge entry function and registration updates on client accounts and clinical staff profiles for billing Healing Hurt People program services to CBH. Jayeanne Clinefelter is currently managing all the system updates for changes required by the payer-CBH. Currently, CNSJ Leadership is working with Grey Johnson to transfer the billing from Penelope system to EPIC system, which may take a year or two to complete the transition.

Essential Functions



  • Maintain tables related to EDI (diagnosis, procedure codes, pricing, modifiers) in Penelope system.
  • Perform charge entry, manage payer plans on accounts.
  • Direct submit EDI files to payer.
  • Interpret rejections for rebilling.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years experience
  • Familiar with electronic billing requirements - 837 files, 277 rejections


Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiar with EDI, familiar with Penelope system

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
