Position Highlights Join our dynamic team at the University of Arizona's Student Unions, Highland/Vending. As a full-time Culinary and Food Services Attendant, you will provide customer service to students, staff, and community members in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Where you'll play a key role in food preparation, vending operations, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.

In this position, you'll prepare fresh food items, including sandwiches, salads, and beverages, following standardized recipes. You'll also stock and sell products from vending carts in high-traffic campus locations, ensuring students, faculty, staff, and guests receive quality service. Additionally, you'll clean, fill, and maintain smart vending machines, assist with grocery stocking, and uphold health and safety standards in all food service areas.

This role follows an Academic Year schedule, with summers off and work resuming from August through May.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Stocks vending cart and sells product targeting high traffic locations on campus while offering excellent customer service. Cleans, fills and maintains smart vending machines on campus. Assists with stocking grocery items.
  • Sets up and replenishes serving lines and serves customers in food service units. Gathers hot and cold food for service line and serves to customers.
  • Performs food preparation tasks such as sandwich and salad making and beverage preparation, following written standardized recipes.
  • Cleans fruits and vegetables and prepares various salads, according to written standardized recipes. Scrapes and sorts dirty dishes, silverware and glassware and operates dishwashing machines.
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen areas; sweeps and mops floors; Operates and cleans food service equipment. Inventories area and completes required forms. Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work area. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills. Abilities:

  • Knowledge of job content, practices and procedures.
  • Skills necessary to fully perform all aspects of the job.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
  • Skill in using cleaning products and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to occasionally transport/move up to 50lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Working morning, evenings, and weekend shifts is required to accommodate business needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
