Responsibilities

The CAD modeler candidate will be tasked to develop detailed missile CAD models (Level 0 and Level 2) in accordance with the MSIC Ballistic Missile CAD standard for a number of missile systems. The modeler will be expected to create a set of drawings with dimensions as specified by the government lead and output datasets from the models to support the development of CFD and OMEGA models. The modeler must also develop and deliver a tradecraft compliant Missile Design Document (MDD) for all developed CAD models that will properly document sourcing and design reasoning for reference.

Duties:

    Create detailed 3D models of missile systems, subassemblies, and components (such as warheads, propulsion systems, and guidance mechanisms).
  • Ensure that designs meet technical specifications and integrate all necessary components.
  • Modify and update models based on design changes, performance feedback, or new requirements.
  • Generate accurate technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions from the 3D models.
  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive set of documentation for all missile components, including material specifications and assembly guidelines.
  • Work closely with missile design engineers, systems engineers, and other technical teams to understand design requirements and constraints.
  • Assist in reviewing design changes, ensuring that they are accurately reflected in the CAD models.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Minimum 9 years w/o a degree

Minimum 5 years with BA/BS

Minimum 3 years with MA/MS

  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
  • Understanding of missile design principles, propulsion systems, aerodynamics, and materials science.
  • Ability to identify issues early in the design process and suggest effective solutions

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in missile design, defense, aerospace, or similar industries

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
