About the College of Health and Human Sciences

The Department of Health Professions is housed within the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS). CHHS embraces inclusivity and an orientation to lifelong learning to prepare diverse students for interculturally competent practice, research, and leadership in their disciplines. Position Summary

MSU Denver is seeking a faculty lecturer for the Department of Health Professions. This is a teaching position in the Health Care Management program and theMasters of Health Administration program. This position entails working closely with the Department Chair and colleagues in the Health Care Management program. The successful candidate will advise, as well as develop, teach, and maintain online, hybrid, and traditional undergraduate and graduate course offerings in the areas of:

  • Healthcare Systems

  • Principles of Healthcare Management

  • Health Care Research Methods

  • Health Care Foundations

  • Global Health Care Systems

  • Public Health Survey

  • Epidemiology

  • Environmental Health and

  • Health Disparities

Responsibilities

Teaching

Teaching 30 credits over Fall and Spring semesters. Teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, leveraging field experiences in:

  • Healthcare Systems;

  • Principles of Healthcare Management;

  • Health Care Research;

  • Public Health;

  • Epidemiology;

  • Environmental Health; and

  • Health Disparities

Advising

Advising undergraduate and graduate students in course planning and career strategies in the health care management and administration.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Services, HealthSciences, Health Policy, Health Systems or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years prior experience teaching undergraduate students in healthcare management and public health
  • Prior experience instructing culturally diverse student populations in health care management
  • Prior experience developing and teaching courses using the Blackboard Learn learning management system
  • Prior industry experience working in community health program assessment

Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
