A Mechanical Engineer job is available with our client in Livermore, CA. In this role you will be responsible in supporting the development of advanced fuel cell technology with applications in several expanding markets. The ideal candidate will lead and manage projects, develop product and process improvements, provide consultation to colleagues, and assist in facilitating training and development programs. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 to 5 years experience required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support the development of advanced fuel cell technology with applications in several expanding markets.
* Lead and manage projects, develop product and process improvements, provide consultation to colleagues, and assist in facilitating training and development programs.
* Oversee product design lifecycle: requirements, concept, detailed design, analysis, testing, reviews, and manufacturing release.
* Develop and execute system designs with thorough engineering analysis.
* Create test plans, perform tests, validate designs, and resolve technical issues.
* Provide mechanical and product design expertise for technology road-maps and identify innovation opportunities and risks.
* Share engineering knowledge and mentor team members.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 2 to 5 years experience required
* Experience designing mechanical components like plastic/metal parts, assemblies, or PCBs.
* Experience using CAD tools, SolidWorks is required, experience in 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, is beneficial.
* Ability to produce detailed drawings & procedures
* Understanding of a breadth of materials
* Structural and thermal analysis experience
* Understanding of manufacturability from a mechanical standpoint
