Job Responsibilities

As a Leonardo DRS Product Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Mission-Critical Testing: Dive into the heart of our production line, where you'll be troubleshooting, masterfully ensuring our electrical systems and Intel PC chipsets operate with deft precision. You'll get to flex your problem-solving skills daily, all while being immersed in the thrilling world of semiconductor processing.
  • Create, Innovate, and Elevate: Join forces with our design and development think tank, where your contributions will shape the future of semiconductor processing. Modifying and refining is the name of the game as you troubleshoot and diagnose problems to make improvements. You will analyze data, embrace design challenges, and push for excellence that meets production requirements for new or improved products and processes. Bring your A-game to statistical techniques, from Design of Experiments to SPC - the tools to revolutionize our processes.
  • Rise to the Challenge - Independently: Assertive and self-starting? Perfect. You'll take ownership of critical tasks, pushing the boundaries of what's possible. From reviewing project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, to supporting the design for manufacture, you're at the helm of innovation.
  • Bridge Theory and Practice: Translate your academic learning into real-world applications. Seamlessly integrate bills of materials, route sheets and documentation into our configuration management systems, contributing to the smooth execution of our projects.
  • Turn Theory into Test Triumphs: Devise and fabricate new or modified electrical and mechanical wonders, then take the driver's seat in rigorous testing. Your sharp analysis will channel test findings into transformative equipment adjustments by recording test procedures and results and making recommendations for changes in product or test methods that will leave a legacy of precision and quality.
  • Champion Our Mission: Stand tall alongside us, championing our mission and values, as we collectively march towards groundbreaking manufacturing methods and process improvements. Here, your voice matters, and your contributions will echo throughout our organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or master's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related tech field.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of academic experience with a GPA that shines as bright as your ambition - 3.0 or higher!
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset driven by intellectual curiosity.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with schematic entry and PCB layout design tools.
  • Familiarity with LTSpice or other SPICE analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and/or MATHCAD
  • Familiarity with Creo, GD&T or SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
