Medical Assistant, Cardiology & Primary Care- South Weymouth

We are seeking a Full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology & Primary Care suite onsite Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. As true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team. Clinical support staff members will be expected to rotate specialties, depending on their assignment that day. Therefore, the ideal candidate profile is an experienced, adaptable Medical Assistant who is confident in their clinical abilities and genuinely enjoys variety. We ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 or 1:2 with assigned providers, but they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with other providers as needed. They can see upwards of 20+ patients per day.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
- Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, EKGs, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)
- Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)
- Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas - Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.

Preferred:

3 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant

Experience giving vaccines

Certification strongly preferred- via AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT
