Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee and lead all aspects of our quality management system (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 aerospace manufacturing standards. The Quality Manager will ensure that all aerospace products meet both internal and external requirements, including customer expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance, implementing effective quality control measures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. This position directs all quality control activities for the Quality Department.



  • Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight: Manage and maintain the company's AS9100 certified QMS, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, as well as customer requirements.
  • Audits: Lead and perform internal audits, ensuring processes and procedures are followed correctly and in compliance with AS9100. Prepare for external audits and handle customer audits as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives (such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and improve product quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specification requirements and customer standards.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier quality performance and coordinate corrective actions for non-conforming parts or materials. Lead supplier audits and evaluations to maintain high standards. Evaluate, select, and monitor suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and contribute to the overall quality of the final product.
  • Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA): Investigate root causes of non-conformances, customer complaints, and internal defects. Lead efforts to implement corrective and preventive actions, tracking effectiveness to ensure issues are resolved. Lead CAPA actions using effective problem-solving tools (8D, 3P, 5Why, etc.)
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all quality-related documentation, including quality reports, inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and CAPA reports.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team. Provide training for staff on quality standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Customer Focus: Address customer quality issues, providing timely resolutions and maintaining customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and specifications.
  • Metrics & KPIs: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor the quality performance of manufacturing processes, driving improvements where necessary. Manage the quality metrics, cost of poor quality to achieve business goals.
  • Training and Development: Oversee the training and development of staff involved in quality control processes, including inspection and gauging requirements (methods, equipment, frequencies, standards, etc.)
  • Risk Management: Implement robust risk management processes to identify and mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Document Control: Manage document control including standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions.



Position Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the aerospace manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on AS9100 standards.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace industry and customer standards.
  • Proficient in the use of quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • First article inspection process, production part approval process (PPAP), DQR process.
  • Solid background of Non Destructive Testing, Mechanical Testing and Special Process Control techniques.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and calibration tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and implement quality initiatives across all levels of an organization.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and organizational skills.
  • US Citizen
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power point)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQM).
  • Experience with NADCAP and ISO standards.
  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
