Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • IT experience in a university environment.
  • Broad understanding of technologies used in application development and data strategy and IT customer service.
  • Proven organizational, project management, interpersonal communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, handle multiple tasks with ease, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced experience with Qlik Cloud Analytics platform including Qlik Application Automation.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, Power Query, and Power Pivot

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of IT Application/Programming specialists and the coordination and delivery of meaningful data products for the Facilities Management Division at the University of Georgia. This individual will drive quality, efficiency, and a high level of customer service with all interactions. This individual is a self-motivated team player who effectively works with technical and non-technical customers, team members, and outside individuals to achieve the goals of the unit. FMD seeks candidates who demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough understanding of the computer field, the university environment, and the range of customers IT serves. Proven organizational, project management, interpersonal communication, and leadership skills are necessary. This person should also have a general knowledge of information technology trends and best practices in relation to programming and data.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, business computer systems, or similar, and at least three years of experience in a lead technical role with increasing responsibilities
* Familiarity and demonstrated experience with software development standards and methodologies.
* Familiarity with programming languages i.e. C#, ASP. NET MVC, Python
* Experience retrieving and posting data to Restful Web Services via custom code and/or low-code/no-code platforms
* Database connection and querying experience such as Oracle, MSSQL
* Data analytics and data architecture concepts
* Experience with Qlik analytics platform
* Good critical thinking abilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, implementation, and maintenance of both low-code/no-code and custom applications, ensuring seamless integration with FMD's Facilities Management System and other core technology platforms that support business and financial operations.
  • Drive business process improvements by leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives.

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of key metrics as required by senior administration to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with FMD units to identify data needs, ensure accurate and timely delivery of data products, and enhance data reporting capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain data governance standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance
