The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.

Position Summary/Details:

Department: Utility Accounting - Energy Settlements

Assisting Settlements Accounting team with preparation of monthly natural gas volume reports, audit requests and ad hoc reporting. Exposure to key Financial systems, Month-End Close, and commodity trading. Duties increase in complexity based upon the co-op's interest and aptitude.

Examples of activities include:

• Maintain monthly report for natural gas volumes and validates to natural gas purchases and sales
• Daily communication with internal and external customers
• Validating Fuel invoices
• Journal Entries
• Audit Requests
• Month-end Close activities
• Ad hoc reporting, projects, presentations
• General administrative tasks

Physical Location of Co-op: TECO Plaza 702 N. Franklin St.

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment

Preferred Availability: Part - Time (20-30 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.

Co-Op Requirements:

• To qualifyas a co-op student, enrollment in the university's co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

Required Degree: Accounting or Finance

Year in School: Junior or Senior,
