Overview

Position Summary:

Responsible for leading large-scale, complex geomatics projects within the renewable energy sector. This position requires extensive experience and expertise in geospatial data collection, analysis, and management for wind farms, solar installations, and other green projects. The Geomatics Engineer III will oversee teams, manage high-profile projects, and play a key role in strategic planning and decision-making, driving innovation and sustainability.
Location: This is a remote position, which can be based anywhere in the U.S. This position supports our business across the United States. Must be able to work within normal business hours Monday-Friday between 7am-6pm of the applicable time zone.

Responsibilities

    Lead and manage large-scale geomatics projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget
  • Provide expert-level analysis and interpretation of geospatial data to support the strategic planning and design of renewable energy projects, including site selection and environmental impact mitigation
  • Oversee the development of detailed maps, 3D models, and geospatial simulations for complex projects, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including environmental protection laws and land use regulations
  • Collaborate with senior management, clients, and stakeholders to define project objectives, develop innovative solutions, and deliver successful projects
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in geomatics, improving the efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability of infrastructure projects
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, showcasing expertise in geomatics and sustainable infrastructure
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Geomatics Engineer I

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in geomatics or a related field

Geomatics Engineer II

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in geomatics or a related field

Geomatics Engineer III

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • Master's degree or professional certification (i.e. Professional Surveyor) preferred
  • Five+ years of experience in geomatics or a related field
  • Previous experiencing managing large projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Expert in GIS software, surveying instruments, CAD, and advanced geospatial modeling tools
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Commitment to innovation and excellence in sustainable infrastructure projects

Working Environment:

  • When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
