Job Purpose: The SMT Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting programs for SMT equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production of electronic assemblies. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes and meet production goals. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: 1. SMT Programming & Setup: - Create and modify programs for SMT pick-and-place Fuji machines (e.g. AMEXII, AMEXIII, NXT... etc.) - Develop and optimize machine programs to improve efficiency and reduce defects. - Configure feeders, nozzles, and vision systems to ensure accurate component placement. 2. Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: - Analyze production data to enhance SMT process performance. - Troubleshoot and resolve programming, placement, and soldering issues. - Conduct first-article inspections to validate program accuracy. - Provide technical support during production runs. 3. Machine Maintenance & Support: - Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of SMT equipment. - Assist maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions. - Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements. 4. Documentation & Compliance: - Maintain and update program libraries, setup sheets, and work instructions. - Ensure SMT processes comply with IPC standards, ISO requirements, and company quality policies. - Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Education and Experience: -4+ years of experience in SMT programming and process optimization. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in SMT programming software (e.g., Fuji Flexa, Nexim, and Aegis). - Understanding of SMT assembly, reflow soldering, and stencil printing processes. - Knowledge of ODB++, Gerber files, BOMs, and CAD data. - Experience with AOI, SPI, and X-ray inspection technologies is a plus. -Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills. Work Environment: - Fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. - Hands-on role with machine setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
