Position Summary
-
Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate a comprehensive student life framework to include the following programming: educational, curricular, co-curricular, experiential, civic engagement, leadership development, and engaging student activities. Coordinate and guide the development and operational activities of student organizations. Foster a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment for students that promotes student learning, academic success, personal growth, and connection to campus life. Develop and implement long-range and short-term planning for the Student Life program to meet current and future needs of all students.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

- Oversee and enhance student life programs and activities, fostering a vibrant campus community and promoting student engagement, leadership, and personal development.
- Serve as Primary Advisor to the Student Government Association and Student Trustee, which include facilitation of SGA and Student Trustee elections.
- Develop and implement appropriate procedures and guidelines to organize, plan, and implement student organizations.
- Recruit, select, train, and evaluate student organization advisors and officers.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and daily direction to the departmental student employees.
- In partnership with Academic Affairs, develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive co-curricular and experiential learning program.
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and scheduling of the MCC Mascot.
- Develop, implement, and assess the college-wide Student Leadership Development program.
- Support campus wide student success and retention initiatives and activities.
- Assist students in need by connecting them to appropriate campus resources and triaging immediate issues.
- Develop guidelines and manage logistics for off-campus student organization activities to ensure the safety of students.
- Facilitate student travel experiences and serve as advisor/chaperone (ex- conferences, cultural and social outings, experiential learning trips, college visits, etc.. )
- Serve as a resource, contact, and support for student activities and student leadership opportunities on campus and ensure appropriate supervision during student events
- Develop and coordinate large-scale events devoted to engaging our students and creating a sense of belonging and inclusion (i.e. Skyway Conference programs, Student Awards Ceremony, Welcome Week).
- Assist the Student Resource Center Team to provide effective campus-wide programming, such as lectures, entertainers, wellness programming, and activities for a culturally diverse population. This includes coordinating scheduling, facilities arrangements, marketing, and other logistics
- Coordinate and manage the scheduling, marketing, and training materials for the E-portfolio
- Contribute to the weekly production of the "Flush" student newsletter and develop other student communication.
- Serve as Co-Curricular Director to the Skyway Conference
- Serve as an MCC representative for community organizations/events (ex. Blood Drive, STD testing facilitated by the Department of Health, etc.)
- Responsible for the oversight and management of the budgets for Student Life, Student Organizations, and Student Government
- Manage and oversee the purchasing of supplies for student organizations, student government and other student life related activities.
- Facilitate the student ID process.
- Evaluate and implement quality improvements of all student life initiatives annually
- Prepare and submit annual reports and documentation related to programs and initiatives sponsored and led by Student Life.
- Develop and maintain a process for monitoring the retention and success of all students involved in Student Life programs.
- Serve on College committees and teams as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with others (e.g., colleagues, , vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
- Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Three years' experience coordinating student support programs or student activities in higher education
