Description
- Evaluates, develops and implements written security programs and related policies.
- Selects, tests and maintains the operation of security devices approved by the security program.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the security program at each credit union location and conducts periodic physical security audits and surveys. Updates the security program, policies and procedures.
- Reviews and ensures proper initial and periodic training of team members under the security program. Acts as liaison and subject matter expert.
- Interfaces with other Credit Union personnel regarding security situations. Participates in investigations and/or provides information for ongoing investigations as required.
- Maintains strategic relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
- Oversees access and monitoring of alarm systems ensures appropriate response to alarms, including after-hours alarm call lists. Assists with security problems at branches or other facilities involving robberies, bomb threats, alarm problems, etc.
- Prepares security related reports, analysis and recommendations to be shared with senior management and the board of directors.
- Manages branch guard service program and is the main contact for security guards at designated branches. Oversees security contract work.
- Conducts branch walkthroughs verifying security rules and equipment is in place. Monitors branch manager monthly security check schedule.
- Responsible for issuance, activation and deactivation of team member badges.
- Partners with Facilities or IT department when addressing repairs or upgrades to security related equipment and structures.
- Monitors CCTV systems to ensure equipment is in working order.
- Monitors DVR cameras at retail location and corporate office. Reviews and downloads videos on requested incidents from HR and retail partners. Places support calls to CBSi on maintenance issues including door maglocks, alarm panels and robbery button malfunctions.
- Works closely with architects, contractors and internal departments to establish and design effective security equipment layouts for new and renovated facilities to ensure team member safety and asset security.
- Collaborates with Learning Operations for security training initiatives in CornerStone.
- Maintains and regularly updates the Security portion of the Business Continuity Plan.
- Prepare proposals and budgets for physical security program.
- Works with facilities and technology services as necessary to plan for software and hardware upgrades, security system integrations and ensure fire safety drills for all locations.
- Monitors and tests alarm and surveillance systems to identify potential security or safety issues and to ensure operational effectiveness of all systems.
- Stays up to date on physical security technology and local codes and regulations relative to Credit Union security systems.
- Represents the credit union and makes necessary on-site decisions during security related incidents in the absence of senior management.
- Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
- Completes special projects as assigned.

- This position will require extensive local travel and will be on call for responses to alarms and other critical situations at all hours.

Bachelors of Criminal Justice (required)
Experience
Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and Email and security systems applications, including alarm and monitoring equipment. (required)
Understanding of legal requirements related to financial center security operations. (required)
Previous law enforcement or specialized physical security training preferred. (preferred)
5+ years' experience in a financial institution related to all security aspects of banking, including fraud. (required)
Security certification preferred. (preferred)
Bachelor's degree Criminal Justice, Security or related field. (required)
