Assembler II for Elk Grove Village facility. M-F, 7am to 3:30pm. Full time.

Job Summary

Perform the assigned tasks within the job description for Technician 1 after completion of training to released OMS.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble and validate complex cable assemblies, harnesses and complex mechanical assemblies to the released drawings and assembly notes. Perform testing of completed assemblies per released procedures. Enter data within the computer database on these products as specified within the OMS. Be able to produce acceptable quality product within the accepted time standard once training has been completed. Other tasks as assigned

Additional Requirements -

  • Have previously worked at least 4 years continuously within a production environment building similar assemblies
  • For internal work experience, worked as a Production Assembler 1 for a minimum of 2 years.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
    • Associate degree in a relevant discipline preferred

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Need attention to detail for the parts and measurements as small changes have a large impact
  • Computer literacy and comfort using MS Office products. Also able to use in house software once training is completed
  • Be able to correctly enter data taken during measurements and test into a database on a computer
  • Be able to read and interpret drawings and work instructions (OMS)
  • Able to use small hand tools, (crimpers, wire strippers, screwdriver, wire cutters, etc)
  • Correctly strip insulation from wires
  • Correctly select and use taps for threaded holes
  • Able to solder and tin wires, (IPC not required) and be able to use a Volt-Ohm Meter
  • Mating of water connections
  • Audit of material in a job
  • Creation and application of labels
  • Understand and comply with our NC process

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Production environment: The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently is required to sit, occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Will infrequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Weights more than 100 lbs; a pallet jack must be used. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, , risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
