Overview

Job Purpose

The role requires a proactive individual able to support the needs of a variety of business areas at the NYSE, executive communications and corporate storytelling. The ability to work effectively in a high-paced, collaborative organization is essential. The Communications Manager is responsible for managing the overall voice and messaging of the NYSE, ensuring that all communications are aligned with business objectives, fostering strong relationships with key audiences, and supporting organizational growth and reputation management. Agency experience or work at a publicly listed company is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Become a key member of the NYSE's communications team with a focus on proactive media relations and content development.
  • Lead campaigns and initiatives that support and enhance the NYSE's reputation and brand.
  • Manage the executive visibility program for key NYSE business leaders, which includes message development, media outreach and speaking opportunities.
  • Participate actively in telling the story of the NYSE as well as its key businesses, which include listings, capital markets and transactions as well as helping to promote the companies listed at the NYSE.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists to secure coverage for the organization.
  • Develop and execute crisis communication plans, including crafting timely and effective responses.
  • Support events held at the NYSE including IPOs, client events and visits from prominent individuals.
  • Develop materials including briefing books, messaging, pitches, press releases and media lists.
  • Work in collaboration with the ICE communications, NYSE marketing, social media and events teams.

Knowledge And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • 6-8+ years of public relations or communications experience either in-house or within an agency, with a proven track record of managing external communication strategies.
  • Experience in a leadership role or managing teams is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling media relations, crisis communication, and brand messaging.
  • Knowledge of the exchange industry, regulation and market structure is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Established media relationships with financial publications and a proven ability to generate media results.
  • Exceptional writing skills including message development, bylines, blogs, social posts, video and podcast scripts, press releases and media statements.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in managing communications during a crisis or in a high-pressure environment, maintaining brand integrity and clear messaging.

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between 108,200 - 144, 200 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
