Position Overview

NOTE: This position is funded through an external grant. Continued employment beyond the fiscal year is contingent upon continued funding.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business and Industry Liaison for the Guiding Pathways to STEM bridges current and former students of ENMU-Roswell and the business and industry community of Southeastern New Mexico. This position will work with businesses and industries to create partnerships that meet business and industry needs, and the work opportunities needs of our ENMU-Roswell students in all STEM fields. This position will work with ENMU-Roswell students to help with job internships, apprenticeships, and job placement. Work with current business and industry advisory councils to advise ENMU-Roswell on employer's needs and establish new advisory councils where needed. This position will work with all GPS Team members, but specifically with the Career and Transfer Coordinator. The Liaison will work with all areas of ENMU-Roswell, including academic programs and community workforce opportunities. This position reports to the CSI/GPS Activity Director and Program Director.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate in the development, implementation, evaluation, coordination, and supervision of GPS internships, apprenticeships, and job placement program.
  • Develop and present materials used for business and industry recruitment or college programs to faculty, staff, students, local high schools, and communities.
  • Work with the Career and Transfer Coordinator in advising, career assessments, student placement, resume coaching, student transfers, and data collection.
  • Assist with Co-Curricular activities as part of the GPS retention and graduation efforts.
  • Work with GPS team members to promote ENMU-Roswell initiatives for student recruitment, retention, graduation, career placement, and Transfer for all Guided Pathways.
  • Establish employer advisory boards for the advisement, development, and implementation of ENMU-Roswell programs.
  • Promote a customer service focused environment to respond to stakeholders needs.
  • Data collection and collaboration with ENMUR Institutional Effectiveness office.
  • Compile information for reports on student engagement and success.
  • Work with GPS Activity Director and AVPs to ensure STEM-related grant objectives are met.
  • Integrate developmental efforts with other ENMUR initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operation Leadership, or related field.
  • Three years experience in business and industry.
  • Experience in business and industry recruiting, training and operations.
  • Strong writing, speaking, presenting, and interpersonal skills in person and online.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Operation Leadership, or related field.
  • Five years experience in business and industry.
  • Successful experience in business and industry recruiting, on-boarding, training, and assessing programs.

Working Conditions

Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.

Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
