What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for an Entry-level Engineer to support our Miami office. The Entry-level Engineer will support our environmental services practice, which focuses on assessment, remediation design, and compliance. You will be trained and mentored in the field and office and will provide environmental assessment/monitoring and engineering/design support. Your potential projects could involve devising solutions for stormwater, soil management, dewatering, compliance, permitting, construction, operations, and environmental monitoring. The individual will conduct assignments predominantly in the field, with some opportunities in an office setting. At this level the Associated Professional will be learning the standard industry practices.



How you can make an impact

    Record data during field work, which could include, but is not limited to: soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, soil movement tracking, gas readings, fieldwork documentation, photographs, or summaries of visual observations through photograph and written field logs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, correspondence, and memos and discuss plans with the project team to ensure understanding.
  • Applies standard practices and techniques, assembles and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of steps or processes.
  • Prepares tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches and/or figures, which assist in the preparation of environmental assessment/monitoring reports.
  • Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including: soil, air, surface water and groundwater.
  • Oversee drilling activities involving, monitoring and well installation, well development, borehole logging and sampling.
  • Complete quality control reviews on all work products (fieldwork documentation, field test reports, data entry, data validation etc.) prior to submission with oversight.
  • Coordinate with project team, contractors, subcontractors, and clients as directed.
  • Understanding scientific concepts to make decisions about a project.
  • Able to utilize software with guidance to complete assignments (Survey123, ArcGIS).
  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in health and safety training as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental or Geotechnical Engineering or related major required.
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant engineering internship, work and/r research experience required.
  • Engineering or Geology degree, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing.


Pay Range

USD $50,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
