Enterprise Technology (ET) is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst IT Senior to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, leveraging their expertise to analyze, define, and document requirements plus write technical specifications for complex projects. As a Business Analyst IT Sr, the candidate will have a strong understanding of both business processes and technical systems, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. A solid understanding of technical concepts, such as software development methodologies, databases, and systems architecture is required.

 

Job Description:

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 per year

 

Essential Duties:

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the liaison between business users, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for enterprise systems and enhancements.

System Design and Configuration: Provide functional expertise to design, configure, and implement system solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.

 

System Specifications:

·        Develop and document technical details of overall system architecture, such as database structure, APIs, and server configurations.

·        Create and maintain design specifications, including wireframes, mockups, and detailed interface designs to guide development teams.

·        Define and document technical specifications, outlining the technologies, platforms, and coding standards to be followed throughout the development lifecycle.

·        Establish and manage interface specifications, detailing protocols and data formats for system integrations (e.g., defining API usage and ensuring data exchange standards like JSON).

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure specifications align with business requirements, technical feasibility, and user needs.

·        Ensure all specifications are clear, comprehensive, and actionable to support development and testing processes.

 

Issue Resolution: Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions or enhancements.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans, conduct system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate functionality and performance.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional requirements, technical specifications, process flows, and user manuals, to support system changes and user training.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.

 

Desired Qualifications:

·        Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop innovative solutions.

·        Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Information Technology, with a focus on technical projects.

·        Deep functional knowledge of enterprise systems, including but not limited to student information systems, financial systems, and HR systems.

·        PeopleSoft experience/knowledge is a plus.

·        Experience with system implementation, upgrades, and complex projects.

·        Strong understanding of business processes and workflows within enterprise applications.

·        Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and validation.

·        Proficiency in creating functional requirements documentation and test plans.

·        Expertise in writing requirements as user stories.

·        Experience creating technical specifications and working with development teams.

·        Ability to work with SQL queries to analyze and validate data.

·        Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

·        Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·        Adaptability to changing project requirements, technology advancements, and business priorities, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.

·        Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

·        Knowledge of business process modeling techniques and tools.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Working Environment:

·        Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.

·        Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.

·        Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

·        Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

·        Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
