Sr Quality Technician

thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry.

• Checks for quality parts
• Trains on quality standards
• CMM programming and gauge calibration
• Review and inspect products placed in quality hold by hand or with CMM programming
• Walk through of plant floor to do quality checks and answer operator questions
• Provide quality training to production staff based on customer returns and new quality issues
• Calibrates gauges and maintain calibration schedule
• Responsible for CMM programming
• Train new operators on level 1 magnetic particle inspection
• Maintain quality certification records
• Prepare monthly QMS report

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• A combination of over two years of directly related education, training, and/or experience is desired for this position
• Previous quality and manufacturing experience preferred

• Knowledge of forging process
• Mechanical background
• Knowledge of proper crankshaft characteristics and critical components
• Understanding of quality standards
• Excellent and timely communication ability
• Basic mathematical ability
• Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability
• Skilled in use of CMM Machine and CMM software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab
