Pick up and deliver people, packages, and Mail across Campus and throughout outlying areas, including providing the CULift para-transport service to Cornell University students. Clean and maintain University Fleet Services vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, and buses. Provide exceptional customer service to the campus community.

This position shift will be 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday to cover Red Runner/CULift rides, and during low-demand ride times clean and fuel vehicles. Occasional overtime assignments, as well as weekend coverage during special events, will be required.

This is an Endowed, union position within the UAW. The starting pay rate is $23.44/hour.

We require these qualifications:

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Must have a high school diploma, or equivalency.
  • Must have 2-3 years of demonstrated driving experience in a business or commercial setting.
  • Must have and maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must have ability to drive effectively in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers (staff, university senior executives, vice presidents, and VIPs, disabled students both ambulatory and those using wheelchairs and co-workers) in a positive manner is required.
  • Must be conscientious, be able to utilize time effectively, work steadily under pressure, pay attention to detail, work independently and prioritize tasks.

You will be a top candidate with our preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience securing and safely transporting persons with mobility aids in specialized vehicles.
