Purpose:

Provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Project managers will exhibit leadership skills necessary to achieve project goals. Typically manages a single mega project or multiple, complex projects/programs, with high risk. Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects. Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively within project scope. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals. Typically manages work directly through project leads or other project managers. Often serve as a proposal manager for large and mega projects.

Responsibilities:

Decision Making



  • Makes independent decisions and recommendations in the course of managing a significant size project.
  • Develops and oversees implementation of strategic programs and policies for their groups, which will have impact on the overall organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects through others. Works frequently with executive management on significant matters influencing the organization's business results, which typically include global strategies.


Supervision Received



  • Operates with broad management authority. Limited only by project objectives and policies of the organization. Work is reviewed to ensure Worley direction meets Worley vision and mission.


Supervision Authority



  • Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on large to mega sized projects.
  • Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • May have direct and indirect reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people. Gives administrative direction to subordinate supervision, and contact with the work force is normally through such levels rather than direct.

  • HSE Leadership - leads HSE conversations, contributes to HSE site walks, assessments and incident investigations.
  • Sets a strong HSE example and develops/supports project specific HSE plans and initiatives.
  • Thinks ahead and takes proactive action on internal/external safety issues.
  • Applies strong and impactful safety principles to team and customer, and drives safety culture at work and home.
  • Oversees the safety plans for multiple contractors involved in the project.


Leadership



  • Leads large cross-functional internal and external project teams and potentially subcontractors or other PMs.
  • Oversees, motivates, and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.
  • Create strong collaborative team environment by establishing common vision, setting clear expectations and accountability.
  • Provides leadership to third-party team members.


Financial Acumen



  • Strong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards and customer contract.
  • Tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends.
  • Ensures key deliverable and install quantities are measured, reported and analyzed.
  • Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team.
  • Deep understanding of project costs including gross margin analysis.
  • Demonstrated controls on lump sum and fixed price contracts.
  • Mastered each of the three core PC's areas (cost control, scheduling, estimating), leads team in mitigating risk.
  • Manages cash flow requirements, including accounts receivable, and work in progress to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO)

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Experienced in the use of Worley project delivery methodology and associated tools for large and mega complex projects.
  • Demonstrated capability of overseeing large-scale projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project (planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions).
  • Procurement of equipment/materials on Worley paper, subcontracting and materials plan, multiple contracts on Worley paper.
  • Capability to manage mixed contracting strategy such as Unit Price, Lump Sum, Reimbursable
  • Has experience with managing complex scope changes.
  • Manages projects and monitors progress in an ordered, accurate way, provides accurate and timely information.
  • Has completed a full project from start to finish and spent time in the field implementing what was engineered.


Systems and Tools (Essential)



  • Expert understanding of broader systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to teach and help others. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.


Systems and Tools (Desirable)



  • May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools; Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.



Additional info:



  • This role is in California.
  • Hourly Range $107.48-$158.06

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.


Preferred



  • Professional registration in local jurisdiction. Certified Program Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM). Typically, 20+ years' experience, including 20+ years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience; Workshare experience; EPCM, EPC including site assignments; Multi-Cultural / Multi-National environments.
  • Demonstrated PD experience leading large and mega projects with high risk; Complex commercial engagements for project delivery including joint ventures.
