Position Description

The Project Manager at Six Side Supply is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, from initial planning to project completion. The Project Manager ensures financial success, quality execution, and client satisfaction while managing subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Key responsibilities include project budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and fostering strong relationships with clients, design teams, and suppliers.

Qualifications

Required:



  • Construction Management degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably with self-perform capabilities
  • Experience in estimating, scheduling, and construction experience
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with owners, design teams, and subcontractors


Preferred:



  • Experience managing projects involving miscellaneous metals, structural steel, or specialty fabrication
  • Understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and safety protocols


  • Scheduling experience with the ability to maintain schedules and hit deadlines.


Skills



  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight time constraints
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Understanding of welding and metal fabrication processes

Office and Travel



  • Primary work location is the Six Side Supply White Bear Lake office
  • Local and National travel to be expected on a semi-regular basis


Responsibilities and Tasks

Preconstruction and Business Development



  • Assist pursuit team in evaluating project requirements and potential opportunities
  • Assist in RFQ and RFP responses
  • Lead the QA/QC review process for project documentation
  • Perform quantity take-offs and assist in labor, material, and equipment estimating
  • Assist in developing project schedules and procurement planning


Project Execution & Management



  • Oversee project schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing coordination
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of project contracts and subcontractor scopes
  • Support and follow standard of work
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on all projects
  • Track and approve subcontractor change orders and invoices
  • Oversee procurement and logistics for materials and equipment


Cost Control & Financial Management



  • Monitor and manage project budgets and financials, ensuring fee retention
  • Track and document project cost changes, labor, and material expenses
  • Assist in preparing pay applications, invoices, and cost reports
  • Support project closeout, ensuring accurate documentation and final inspections


Post-Construction & Client Relations



  • Oversee punch list completion and final project closeout
  • Foster long-term relationships with clients, architects, and contractors
  • Support warranty work and ongoing maintenance requirements
  • Attend networking events and industry conferences to expand business opportunities


Other Duties as assigned



  • Attend all project and company safety meetings and weekly work plan meetings


  • Attend any training - personal and/or professional development - that is relevant to the position, including human resources management
  • Actively participate in company-sponsored events
  • Participate in Lean events and support of the McGough Way


  • Participate as an active member of the Six Side Supply Team. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to align efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Employee must be able to communicate effectively in a typical office environment with a standard level of office noise. Occasional standing, bending, walking and lifting is also required.

Employee will be required to visit construction jobsites, which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures. In addition, employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites. This includes climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, walking long distances, and climbing stairs.

Pay Transparency

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is 95,000 to 120,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
