Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. This Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on expanding and developing data-driven and/or physics-based diagnostic, prognostic, and life prediction methods for Lithium-ion Batteries (LiB) using a rich collection of electrode and cell-level data. You will report to the project investigator. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Python, with additional experience in C++ and MATLAB, particularly in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Proficiency in TensorFlow and PyTorch for AI model development is necessary . You should understand time series modeling and AI architectures such as LSTM, GRU, and CNNs, and be able to explore and customize AI models to solve specific problems. Experience processing large datasets, including filtering, cleaning, and anomaly detection, is required. A thorough understanding of Bayesian models like Gaussian Processes and Gaussian Mixture Models is necessary. You should have a strong statistical foundation with experience in generative models such as Variational Autoencoders and GANs. Knowledge of diffusion models for degradation modeling is highly desirable. Additionally, understanding lithium-ion systems, with relevant published work, is preferred. Familiarity with machine learning basics, including stochastic gradient descent, activation functions, loss functions, optimizers, and Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), is also required. The position entails writing scientific manuscripts for journal publication, and presentation of research results at national and international conferences and meetings. Qualifications
