Position Summary

The Commercial Truck Driver is responsible for transportation and set up of the Mobile Training unit from one location to another. Job duties include transporting the vehicle and set up at offsite locations, abiding by traffic laws and ensuring safe loading and unloading of equipment and supplies as needed as well as:

  • Ability to provide exemplary customer service.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on an as needed basis.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess a Class A Driver's License.

  • Have a clean driving record with no more than one moving violation within the last three (3) years.

  • Maintain a detail log of vehicle operations and working hours.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals within the Dallas College community network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transportation of the mobile training unit to and from offsite locations.

  • Performance of routine safety inspections.

  • Communicating and coordinating with staff.

  • Maintaining safety logs and routine preventative maintenance.

  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 100 pounds or more. Must provide proof of passing a Department of Transportation Physical.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older.

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License

  • Two (2) years' work experience as a commercial vehicle operator.

  • Proof of passing a Department of Transportation Physical.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • ***May be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***
