Technical SAP Analyst/BI Developer

About the Role: We are looking for a Technical SAP Analyst/BI Developer to support Gore Fabrics' pursuit to increase organizational scalability of commercial operations through effective decision making, based on improved access to data from our source ERP system, SAP. In this role, you will join the Gore Fabrics Analytics team with the expectation of having strong expertise in creating Core Data Services (CDS) views in SAP, along with a deep understanding of SAP table structures and relationships, that support the design and build of BI reporting and Dashboard solutions for the business. You will provide SAP functional and technical expertise and guidance when assessing and delivering BI solutions that leverage SAP data. Experience in one or more of the following functional business areas is a must: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, or R&D. Finally, you will be part of a highly skilled Analytics team charged with the task of building a new Azure Modern Data estate, from inception to implementation, in support of BI reporting and dashboard needs for the business.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, hybrid or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Pay and Benefits:

• $115,000 - $145,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and implement CDS views to enable data ingestion into the Gore Fabrics MDE and the creation of reporting and analytics within the SAP application
• Work closely with functional teams in areas such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, or R&D to understand business processes and requirements
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and business/functional teams to define business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using SAP BI tools and technologies
• Maintain a thorough understanding of SAP table structures, their relationships, and integration within the SAP ecosystem
• Utilize SAP's data tools to analyze SAP data structures and create performant CDS views
• Ensure the alignment of SAP data models with business needs, implementing necessary changes to improve data accuracy and consistency
• Provide ongoing support for SAP-based BI solutions, including issue identification and resolution
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in SAP Technical Analytics/BI development with a strong emphasis on CDS view creation (basic and advanced), as well as FIORI tile development
• Strong experience withSAP data tools, such as Query Browser, DB Cockpit and HANA Studio, for interrogation of SAP data and data structures, and the development of SAP data objects, such as CDS views
• Experience working in a formal change management environment and maintaining reports and dashboards throughout their lifecycle
• Extensive knowledge ofSAP table structures, data relationships, and integration within SAP modules
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, terminology and architecture
• Highly skilled with SQL for data analysis and integration tasks
• Evidence of robust practices for data & analytics documentation disciplines
• Ability to work in a heavily weighted team environment
• Ability to travel 5-10% as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• Certifications in SAP BI tools, HANA, or related technologies are a plus
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud-based analytics solutions, and experience with Power BI for dashboard and report development
• Proficiency in additional programming languages, such as Python, to support data extraction, manipulation, and automation
