Job Summary:

The primary focus of the DevOps QA is developing and executing test cases/scripts and triaging defects while supporting the developer to fix defects/configurations. The Analyst must possess knowledge of Quality Assurance/DevOps Best Practices and QA Standards and be able to apply that knowledge.

Under supervision of QA Lead the QA Analyst will...



  • Evaluate acceptance criteria and business requirements, assist in writing test suites, and will execute test cases manually for new or modified applications.
  • Be responsible for reviewing new or modified applications including documentation, diagrams, and flowcharts, to determine if program will perform according to user stories/requirements and conform to guidelines.
  • Enter defects and present steps to recreate errors to report issues to developers to fix and report to stakeholders for risk assessment.
  • Execute testing manually based requirements/acceptance criteria while keeping user experience in mind and ease of use of new products.



Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Primary Duties and Accountabilities



  • Develop and execute test cases/scripts manually in an agile or waterfall project environment
  • Create and manage test data in Azure DevOps
  • Triage defects and support in resolution, reporting these issues to developers and stakeholders as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver the product or feature
  • Aid in regression suite development



Education and Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or other related disciplines.

    • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


  • This role may be filled at entry level



Critical Skills



  • Experience in:


  • Test case management tools
  • Working in an Agile Environment


  • Able to:


  • Work on multiple application types (Web, API, Mobile and Desktop)
  • Build different test scenarios, acceptance criteria and execute test cases manually
  • Look for opportunities to start testing earlier in the development life cycle



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in Oracle Utility Suite, SQL, Web & Mobile Development
  • C# and/or Python



Scope

Responsibilities are generally tactical and basic in nature, however work may vary in type and complexity requiring the incumbent to be flexible to adjust to the given situation. Primary focus is on daily deliverables and outputs, while at the same time developing a knowledge of the broader context in which the work is being performed.

Independent discretion or decision-making capability is mostly limited. There is normally a general framework of established boundaries to help employees perform their roles and make decisions. Situation that require deviation from this general framework are typically not made alone. The employee may recommend a solution however the recommendations are frequently presented to their manager or more senior level professionals for review and approval prior to the decision being made.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles
