Responsible for the operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment which includes saltwater and oil facility equipment. Ensures that the equipment is operated, within safe operating limits, and maintained in compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations including but not limited to Process Safety Management, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Ensures that the equipment is set up, operated and maintained to maximize return on invested capital in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

  • Ensure effective monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system verification of all compression systems under minimal supervision.

  • Plan and conduct assignments of a complex nature.

  • Assist in design, configuration and troubleshooting all facets of the compression systems.

  • Ensure deliverables are completed while maintaining quality standards.

  • Recommend changes in procedures and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Train and mentor less experienced technicians in all aspects of systems and provide support in completing assigned tasks.

  • Under limited supervision, troubleshoot, operate and maintain complex equipment to ensure that planned and unplanned outages are minimized, environmental regulations are met, and to enhance reliability and performance.

  • Coordinate and perform all preventative maintenance programs and procedures of a moderately complex nature.

  • Effectively utilize special tools and instruments such as: micrometers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, manometers, peak firing pressure indicators, gas quality monitoring equipment, etc.

  • Maintain all records, reports and facilities as required for compliance purposes.

  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities with O&M Leader.

  • Perform and coordinate major repairs and maintenance on equipment.

  • Track and control material inventory.

  • Interface with Gas Control and Operations Support prior to and during projects related to midstream facilities.

  • Ensure Lock Out Tag Out procedures are implemented and followed.

  • Ensure Safe Work Permit is required and valid.

  • Coordinate and schedule contract personnel.

  • Observe all safety requirements and actively participate in company safety initiatives.

  • Identify, report, and take immediate actions to correct unsafe conditions.

  • Assist with projects and job scope preparation in the following areas: new equipment commissioning, capital maintenance projects, equipment retrofits, reliability, and efficiency upgrades.

  • Investigate, take corrective action, and communicate equipment outages to minimize impact on customer services.

  • Provide field support on capital projects involving compression, including assistance with unit assembly, construction inspection, and material handling.

  • Advise and assist in training other technicians and proactively share knowledge.

  • May perform one or more multi-skilled operations, maintenance, and installation duties in addition to the primary roles and responsibilities listed above. Responsibilities include measurement, electronics, dehydration, treating, corrosion, pipeline, compressor, gas processing plants, amine treating facilities and regulatory compliance functions with direct guidance.

  • May conduct periodic "sniff" tests at the extremities of the system to confirm that the gas contains odorant.

Education & Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) is required.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations.

  • Valid State Driver's License.
