Position Title:Lead Supply Chain Technician - OU Medical Center Edmond - Mon - Fri Department:Supply Chain Job Description:

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 3PM

General Description:

Lead Supply Chain Technicians in functions of put away, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general, medical, and surgical supplies throughout various healthcare settings. Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of others. Under general supervision, ensure that established priorities are carried out and deadlines met to support the work of the OU Health Supply Chain department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Audit, inspect, and verify work for quality, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Train Supply Chain staff.
  • Provide staff oversight and perform rounding in clinical areas to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are adhered to.
  • Provide input regarding performance to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Participate in planning staff schedules and interviewing and evaluating job applicants.
  • Prioritize workload and requests for supplies and equipment.
  • May lead disaster response, following established departmental procedures in the absence of management.
  • May lead project work.
  • Put away supplies into clean rooms, carts, and other supply locations utilizing proper rotation.
  • Scan inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
  • Pick supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restocking Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
  • Check various supply locations for product expiration dates and removal according to policy.
  • Distribution of oxygen tanks.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Deliver supplies and packages to various nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
  • Answer phone calls and emails and respond to customer service requests.
  • Perform issues and credits in the Materials Management Information System (MMIS), ensuring the cost of the items are allocated appropriately.
  • Reports inventory discrepancies and documents according to policy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Utilize various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
  • Assist with training Supply Chain staff.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: None required. High School or equivalent preferred.

Experience: One year of Supply Chain experience. Healthcare and/or inventory experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Typing, use of computers, computer software, and the ability to learn software applications necessary in the performance of typical work.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the MMIS.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment such a fax machines, copy machines, and printers.
  • Ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem solving.
