As an Associate Principal Scientist in Skin Transformation Application Domain, you will lead technical teams in developing innovative skincare formulations. This role is crucial in joint effort with Advanced Research and Development, ensuring L'Oreal delivers cutting-edge, consumer-centric peri-procedure skincare technologies to our L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) brands. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners while adhering to L'Oreal quality and safety standards. This position reports to the Director of the Skin Transformation Application Domain. A Day in the Life:
- Formulation
Expertise & Project Leadership: Provide expert guidance in skin formulations, leading technical project teams from concept to completion. - Collaboration
& Innovation: Partner closely with the Advanced Research, Development team, brand and other collaborators through the Aesthetic Innovation Incubator, driving agile development and fast-tracking breakthrough technologies for LDB brands. - Project
Management: Oversee multiple projects concurrently, effectively managing timelines, resources, and deliverables. This includes close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. - Product
Development: Conceptualize, create, and develop new skincare products that meet consumer needs and align with L'Oreal's quality, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Proactively anticipate future product needs. - Mentorship
& Knowledge Sharing: Train and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Share expertise and best practices within the team.
We Are Looking For:
- Education: Ph.D. or Master's
degree in Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Surface and Interface Science, Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering is required. - Experience: 5-7+ years of hands-on
experience in skin formulation development is required. Deep understanding of skin biology, active ingredients, and formulation techniques with experience in the biomedical/dermatological industries is highly desirable. - Project
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage projects effectively, demonstrating a strong track record of successful collaboration and partnerships. - Communication
Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively conveying scientific information to diverse audiences. - Entrepreneurial
Spirit: A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for developing cutting-edge skincare solutions. - The ability to lift 35 lbs
