Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Business Partner. Serve as a key member of the Legal team, and work as a key business partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Leadership teams to design and implement programs, policies and practices to ensure that all areas of Rite-Hite's global HR functions comply with federal, state and local labor law requirements. This position will be a trusted advisor to the HR team and will have a critical role in reviewing employee relations matters. Assist in HR matters related to M&A activity and other initiatives as directed. Engage with Team Members. Serve as an elevated point of contact and advisor for employee complaints; conduct complex investigations and resolve employee relations issues, including the investigation of harassment, discrimination and other charges; manage discipline, recommend remedial action as necessary, and manage termination and discharge actions. Partner with internal employment counsel and HR business partners to effectively manage and resolve possible conflicts related to employment practices. Policy Support. Provide HR compliance support related to developing, implementing and maintaining internal HR policies and compliance procedures throughout the organization. Provide advice and direction to managers and supervisors regarding practices, policy and employment laws (working with in-house and outside counsel). Ensure uniform and equitable application of HR policies. Audit and Assessment. Audit current practices and make recommendations on how to create more compliant and effective practices. Monitor and track compliance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior leaders, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective action as needed. Regulatory Compliance. Direct and manage all compliance reporting, including AAP, EEO-1, I-9, and VETS. Oversee immigration practices and procedures related to compliance and expatriate programs. Manage internal resources and work with outside counsel supporting immigration work. Act as a liaison to government agencies and/or 3rd party service providers, as appropriate. Training. Working with in-house and external counsel, create communication plans and materials to deliver effective training and education to HR team members. Develop and provide training on policies, procedures, and legal requirements to business leaders and employees. Responsible for overseeing the management, inventory, maintenance & retention of personnel records in accordance with fed and state regulations. REQUIREMENTS:
