- What you'll do in this role:
The NPI Buyer and Configuration Specialist will:
- Plan, organize and schedule NPI activities to meet sales demand.
- Prioritize and assist shipments to customers.
- Generate purchase orders for applicable raw materials and maintain inventories at adequate levels.
- Implementation of components, bill of materials (BOM), routings, documents, and other product data into data management system (Oracle).
- Promote best practices and internal business processes with relation to change management and general product lifecycle management functions.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Determine and maintain optimum NPI oven, braid and finishing schedules in order to meet due dates and maximize production efficiencies, as well, to monitor work in process so that discrete work orders do not fall into past due status.
- Prepare and distribute dispatch lists listing job order, machines and job priority.
- Prioritize incoming inspection service based on customer demand.
- Prioritize shipments based on production runs and customer requirements.
- Monitor progress of jobs in NPI and coordinate activities between operations when required.
- Maintain accuracy of the scheduling spreadsheet for NPI personnel to follow.
- Ensure purchased materials are available as needed for NPI orders.
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels in accordance with meeting inventory goals.
- Develops and maintains Configuration, Change and Release Management processes.
- Works with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and other supporting functions in order to accurately structure new products and document product changes as part of the product development, continuous improvement, and sustaining engineering processes.
- Drives timely part setup/item numbers, BOM releases, BOM changes, and routings to support new product introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining business.
- Understands and configures usages, costs, and material management within data management systems.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Good computer skills. Experience with Oracle and Excel required
- Leadership/supervision training a plus.
