RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Prioritize and uphold strict safety standards

* Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently

* Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery efficiently and safely

* Conduct thorough pre-and post-operation inspections, reporting findings in compliance with policies

* Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed

* Operate equipment with a high level of skill, accuracy, and efficiency

* Adhere to all company policies and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations

* Complete additional tasks as assigned by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.

* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

* Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and early shifts as required.

* Ability to work in outdoor and underground environments under various weather conditions.

* Must pass a drug screening and comply with the company's Substance-Free Workplace Policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* One year experience operating wheel loaders

* Experience with graders, excavators, and haul trucks.

* Familiarity with quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, screens, and scales.

* Previous experience working in a quarry environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.

* Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.

* Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.

* Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.

* Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.

* Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.

* Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

* Conditions: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable to changing environmental factors and the demands of an active quarry operation.
