The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative is a field-based position located in the New Orleans territory serving as direct link between the company and health care providers (HCPs) and clients in the assigned geographical region. She/he handles all operational aspects of pharmaceutical sales and service including, but not limited to: generating sales, communication and promotion of the clinical and economic benefits of the product(s), building and maintaining successful relationships, educating health care staffs and identifying new opportunities for growth. The incumbent collaborates cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical and other internal departments and external resources on sales related issues.

The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative demonstrates the highest ethical and professional standards with all business contacts to establish and maintain excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, processes and compliance guidelines and ensures knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements to appropriately respond to sales inquires, disseminate scientific information and report Adverse Events (AEs) and Product Quality Complaints (PQCs)

* Establishes, develops and maintains successful business partnerships with targeted health care providers (HCPs) and staffs within assigned geographical territory; Increases awareness through appropriate scientific information and educational programs to medical professionals

* Collaborates closely with Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to establish/execute a specific and integrated action plan for assigned region in order to achieve defined territory and sales goals; Clearly understands and implements sales and marketing strategies/plans to obtain sales objectives for assigned products

* Creates consultative, solution-oriented business partnerships with clients by meeting regularly with appropriately targeted HCPs and staff within assigned geography to understand and discuss company products and how they can meet their identified needs

* Establishes, manages and maintains successful relations with relevant and appropriate HCPs and other medical and pharmacy personnel; Provides HCPs and other medical and pharmacy staff with training and assistance in indicated product usage; Communicates accordingly on proper timeline of effects, side effects and counter indications/risks of drug and notifies Pharmacovigilance (PV) Department, as needed; Maintains current and comprehensive clinical and pharmacoeconomic knowledge of product(s) and treatment area(s)

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

Bachelors degree and minimum 1 year sales experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, business to business (B2B), capital equipment, medical device and/or related industry.

* Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and successfully and independently growing and managing a territory

* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex sales and technical data and to develop strategic and actionable business plans

* Experience conducting successful consultative, solutions-oriented sales calls

* Excellent presentation skills and experience

* Ability to quickly learn, understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to external customers

* Scientific and business acumen

* Valid US drivers license and clean driving record
