Fit Ship Manufacturing Team Lead

About the Role:

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Manufacturing Team Lead to join its team. The Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for organizing, assigning and overseeing production in the Fit Ship area. This position leads the production team in meeting production schedules, facilitating the safe and productive manufacture of high-quality products, effectively driving and maintaining the standardized work process.

Responsibilities:

* Allocates shift's team members according to the production plan, training matrix, and generate report and update tier two accountability board

* Provides timely and effective feedback to help team members to strengthen specific skills needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem

* Continuously tracks team performance and resolves any production abnormalities

* Escalates issues and/or successes of the machine shop to the Focus Factory Manager as necessary

* Implements the cyclical & monthly audit of the Fit Ship area

* Analyzes all inventory discrepancy & develops improvement action plans

* Analyzes the cause of quality issues & formulates suitable action plans, including containment and preventative corrective actions in Fit Ship

* Coaches team members on adherence to safety procedures, including correct use of PPE, daily safety checks and workplace inspections

* Organizes & holds safety meetings to carry out safety education, risk assessments, accident investigations & other related safety activities

* Organizes & leads the team's execution of the 5S plans, including housekeeping, making problems visible and standardizing activity for all Team Members

Requirements:

* High school equivalent or higher education

* Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required

* Understanding of lean manufacturing, waste elimination, problem-solving & 5S

Shipping and/or quality experience preferred
