SUMMARY

The BA Supervisor oversees the day-to-day functions of the staff assigned to their team and assures staff provide quality care, maintain program/contract compliance, adhere to legal and ethical requirements, and meet performance expectations including productivity and timely documentation. Staff may include Bachelor-level case managers and specialists, and student interns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families on their journey to achieve personal success.
  • Provides weekly individual and group supervision to staff in accordance to Agency standards, and if applicable, in accordance with acceptable professional practices as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and within scope of practice restrictions.
  • Ensures services delivered are of high quality, culturally responsive, and outcomes driven.
  • Supervises the provision of services and provides training in Case Management, Child Specialist Services, in-home services and qualifying Evidence Based Practices (EBP's).
  • Ensures client documentation is accurate and submitted within the established timeframe.
  • Monitors the flow of cases on employee caseloads to ensure that a balanced approach to intakes and discharges occur.
  • Administers quality assurance procedures including record reviews.
  • Provides employees with timely, accurate feedback on performance encouraging growth and addressing poor performance.
  • Assists intake, reception, clinical staff, and accounting in the collection of complete and accurate information necessary for treatment and billing.
  • Carries a caseload as determined by program needs.
  • Conducts sessions and observations in the field including in client homes as assigned and needed.
  • Attends in-person meetings and events at various locations within the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
  • Provides telephone backup for emergencies both during office hours and outside of office hours when supervisees are unavailable.
  • Represents the Agency at community meetings, provides in-service training to other agencies and Foothill employees, and consults with other agencies and schools.
  • Represents the Agency at marketing events and interfaces with liaisons for trainees and interns from graduate schools.
  • Supports, reinforces, and implements Agency policies.
  • Ensures staff follows all policies, procedures and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files, and takes appropriate coaching, counseling and disciplinary action to reinforce staff compliance.
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with all staff, collaborating when appropriate.
  • Works in close harmony with the Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Managers, Directors and the Chief Clinical Officer accepting direction and implementing policies and procedures reflective of this direction.
  • When working with student interns, works in collaboration with the Human Resources Department to ensure the placement of interns include an approved and authorized Memorandum of Understanding with the applicable university or school.
  • Travels between Foothill Family sites for training, meetings, and other in-person interactions.
  • Attends in-person meetings and events at various locations within the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
  • Provides care or services to minors or comes into contact with minors as part of their job duties.
  • Provides services relating to the administration of public funds or benefits, including eligibility for public funds or public benefits.
  • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and ensures employees are abiding by safety practices; takes action when employees put themselves or others at risk.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files.
  • Ensures performance and behaviors support the Agency's performance quality improvement (PQI) goals and objectives.
  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, Family Services, Counseling, or related social science field required.
  • Three to five years of experience in providing direct service to individuals, families, and groups required.
  • Two years of previous supervisory /management experience preferred.
  • Experience in providing services to children, adults, and/or families with serious emotional problems.
  • Ability to be an excellent representative of the Agency to the community.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of technology experience with electronic record keeping and reporting systems.
  • Ability to set up systems to track, monitor and implement program expectations and corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and report on data that can be used for program quality improvement by staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to administer a complex program by being detailed oriented, following up on concerns, and understanding the systems which help ensure quality of service and accurate record keeping.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience after receiving license) and maintains the California state required auto insurance liability limits.
  • Provides services relating to the administration of public funds or benefits, including eligibility for public funds or public benefits.
  • Must not be excluded, suspended, debarred or otherwise made ineligible on the Federal, State or County Sanctions lists.
