DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

* Direct executive leadership communications to include speeches, presentations, panel discussions, interviews, op-eds, talking points, correspondence, written internal communications, videos, podcasts and other tactics. Align messaging to strategic priorities and corporate marketing and communications priorities. Recommend strategies to proactively enhance relations with internal and external stakeholders and elevate the brand.

* Vet and recommend engagement opportunities in collaboration with business and community partners. Develop objectives and key messages and prepare executive leadership for internal and external meetings and events with various audiences, including the media, public, elected officials, key stakeholders and internal groups.

* Consult and collaborate with executives to develop compelling thought leadership content and to refine and enhance their messaging, storytelling, interview and presentation capabilities, ensuring alignment with MU Health's strategic objectives, brand, and values.

* Develop and execute a comprehensive and integrated internal communications and engagement strategy in alignment with the health system's strategic, operational and workforce priorities.

* Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company's culture and values. Ensure all internal communications convey proper content and image of the organization and maintain consistent messaging, tone of voice and visual identity.

* Collaborate with Marketing and Human Resources to create and implement an employee value proposition and employer brand culture strategy focusing on retention. Position MU Health as the employer of choice and develop initiatives and communications that inspire a highly engaged workforce.

* Manage and create engaging content for the internal communications channels - intranet/mobile app, email updates, newsletters, employee forums, appreciation events and change management initiatives. Determine which platforms to use, establish channels for project teams, and facilitate communication of important developments and project updates between departments.

* Regularly evaluate the efficiency and efficacy of the communication channels and tools used, making continuous improvements. Contribute to the development of new communication initiatives and tools and recommend development and maintenance of existing channels to deliver organizational messaging. Oversee the ongoing renewal and update of the MU Health Care Care and School of Medicine corporate websites (intranets), newsletters, and other internal communications vehicles for the health system.

* Manage the planning and delivery of both virtual and in-person employee forums, town halls and regional events.

* Establish metrics associated with executive and internal communications objectives, using data and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations. Presents performance results, including routine and special reports, to a broad base of selected stakeholders.

* Monitor executive and internal communications initiatives to ensure success and continuously refine and optimize strategies.

* Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

* Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

* May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field.

* Five (5) years of experience in public relations and corporate communications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field.

* Experience in healthcare, hospitality or service sectors.

* Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
