Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analyst (Mid-Level) to join our dynamic communications team. The ideal candidate will have experience with the federal government and legislative affairs.

The Analyst supports the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Office of Corporate Communication (SEA 00D) by tracking, monitoring, and assessing congressional actions of interest to NAVSEA stakeholders.

NAVSEA SEA 00D supports the Command mission of designing, building, delivering and sustaining the U.S. Navy's ships, submarines and systems through its strategic communications efforts. Representing more than 86,000 employees geographically dispersed across more than 40 locations worldwide, SEA 00D is responsible for providing the strategic guidance, planning and execution support for all enterprise-wide internal and external communication, including marketing requirements and legislative engagement. In this capacity, the office provides direct support and strategic advisement to the Commander on all communication matters.

Responsibilities



  • Provide subject matter expertise for defense policy and appropriation matters, advising senior leaders on the status of legislation, topics of Member interest and areas of potential impact to Navy programs and policies.
  • Provide continuous research and assessment of congressional actions, reports, and sensitive issues to identify areas of significant interest and develop courses of action to address them effectively.
  • Support the development and implementation of a proactive congressional engagement strategy across NAVSEA priority areas.
  • Produce written documents for senior officials including briefing materials, legislative summaries, background papers and correspondence.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Minimum five (5) years of experience analyzing and writing on federal congressional actions.
  • Experience with NAVSEA, Congress, the Navy and Department of Defense, including defense acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of the enactment process for defense authorization and appropriation legislation.
  • Working knowledge of the Navy's Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution Process (PPBE) process.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Education

Bachelor of Arts in Political Science or related field.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: Washington Navy Yard; Onsite 5 days per week

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
