Work Schedule:

FTE 100%, 40 hour/week. Monday-Friday 8-4:30, weekday & weekend call rotation. Call: One in seven weekends Fri night -Mon am. Rotating call up to 1 day a week. One hour call response time. You will work at UW Health American Family Childrens Hospital (AFCH), 1678 Highland Ave, Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Peds/Fetal Cardiovascular Sonographer - Lead:



  • Responsible for the daily operations of the pediatric echocardiography lab. This position serves in the role of Technical Director and in this capacity, is responsible for maintaining accreditation of the lab through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), serving as a resource for staff, and coordinating patient scheduling and daily work assignments.
  • Perform the most complex professional level non-invasive ultrasound studies using additional diagnostic technology as appropriate and record results. Clinical preliminary impressions of results are relayed to pediatric cardiologists.
  • Assist with intraoperative transesophageal imaging and exercise stress echo examinations. Those will skills in advanced pediatric cardiac imaging including fetal echo and 3D imaging are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • * Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CHAAHEP) approved ultrasound program, Associate Degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or relevant health sciences field Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound, Radiology, Biological Sciences, or relevant health sciences field Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography imaging Required
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience Required
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography imaging Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Registered in Adult Echocardiography (AE) Upon Hire Required
  • Registered in Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Registered in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) Preferred
