Job Description

The M&S Event Mission Project Manager will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office in testing the Missile Defense System (MDS). This role involves operating within a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, supporting MDS Ground Test (GT) events, and assisting with MDS Flight Test support, including pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction. Additionally, this position provides M&S development and test support to other Department of Defense (DoD) partners.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide strategic planning support for MDS test events, framework M&S, and risk reduction activities.
  • Act as a liaison between M&S software developers, product integration teams, analysis teams, test teams, infrastructure teams, MDS elements, and stakeholders.
  • Consolidate capabilities to meet MDS stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain management awareness of planning activities and development issues.
  • Participate in and present findings at working group meetings, peer reviews, and other technical interchange meetings.
  • Develop and deliver reports to leadership on cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
  • Review test plans and event schedules for feasibility based on resource allocation and time constraints.
  • Coordinate test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.) with simulation software developers to support new capabilities and implementation strategies.
  • Capture development schedules, integration points, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to define M&S engineering criteria for risk reduction activities.
  • Communicate M&S event and activity status updates to stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate continuous development activities for M&S and MDS elements.
  • Track and resolve M&S issues.
  • Provide risk management recommendations, including identifying event risks, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring impacts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business, Engineering, or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum 10years of related experience
  • Active secretsecurity clearance required.
  • Experience in:

    • MDA Ground Test environments
    • Leading integrated system test events
    • Real-time distributed simulation infrastructures
    • MDS Element configurations and operations
    • DoD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT)


  • Familiarity with Objective Simulation Framework (OSF); experience operating M&S utilizing OSF is highly desired.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
