The center's current scope of work includes behavioral health, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, maternal health & child well-being, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. The center is at work locally, nationally, and internationally with public and private partners to improve health and well-being.

The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health & Wellbeing, within GHPC, was created in partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The Center of Excellence employs a three-pronged focus on research, policy, and practice, and is engaged in providing workforce development through technical assistance and training to build the capacity of the state's behavioral health workforce; research and evaluation to monitor and assess behavioral health services for providers and state agencies to measure program effectiveness; and consultative research and policy analysis services for local, state, and national partners focusing on financing structures and service delivery opportunities for improving the behavioral health system of care.

ABOUT THIS POSITION
The assistant director of marketing and communications is responsible for working with GHPC's Center of Excellence and the Georgia Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to provide guidance and technical assistance to develop and facilitate consistent organizational branding and communication strategies to enhance community engagement, sustainability, and increase the visibility of public behavioral health safety net services.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Assist the Center of Excellence, its project teams, and the Georgia Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in branding and messaging.
  • Manage and develop audience-focused copy and graphics for print, web, and social media.
  • Work with teams to create marketing materials such as briefs, presentations, reports, etc., utilizing skills of graphic design, communications and messaging, and working with multimedia.
  • Assess and propose recommendations to improve marketing strategies aimed at improving community engagement and sustainability.
  • Help the Center of Excellence and the Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities increase their marketing and community engagement capacity.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of organizational marketing and community engagement capability.
  • Provide standardized and tailored technical assistance to strengthen the overall marketing capacity of external provider agencies based on identified need.
  • Provide leadership and develop projects, project portfolios, and competency areas.
  • Manage within or outside of project or competency area.
  • May supervise junior marketing staff.
  • Serve as a liaison for clients, GHPC, and university personnel while meeting strategic project goals.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • It is expected that the candidate will have experience in content marketing, website design and maintenance, social media, and graphic design.
  • Strong project management and strategic communication skills with an emphasis on fostering collaboration and achieving organizational goals.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders including state agencies and communities on communication initiatives and supervisory experience is desirable.
