Job Summary:

The Facility Operations Assistant supports the daily operations and maintenance of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures the workplace remains clean, organized, and safe for all employees. Duties include general upkeep, assisting with maintenance tasks, and supporting facility-related projects to ensure the smooth functioning of the plant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting and sanitizing production areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.

  • Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal methods.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, and production areas.
  • Address minor maintenance issues, such as changing light bulbs or fixing door hinges, as needed.
  • Monitor the facility for hazards or maintenance needs and report issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Assist with implementing safety procedures, such as setting up warning signs and spill cleanup.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
  • Support the setup and teardown of workstations, meetings, or production areas.
  • Assist maintenance technicians in larger facility repair or upgrade projects.
  • Respond to work orders and facility request in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage inventory and restocking of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuums.
  • Ensure the proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain logs of completed tasks, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks.

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experiences in facility operations, janitorial services, or maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
