Why M Physicians?

The Supervisor - Complex Surgery Schedulers is responsible for supervision of complex schedulers including shift scheduling, facilities communication between specialty clinics, Hospital and ASC operating rooms and teams, Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (PAC), process improvement projects, and surgery scheduling in accordance with M Physicians' processes and policies.

What you will do as a Supervisor - Complex Surgery Schedulers:

1. PERIOPERATIVE COORDINATOR SUPERVISION

* Responsible for day to day management of complex scheduling team including communication facilitation between relevant team members, OR scheduling, staffing and recruiting, productivity metrics.

* Manage staffing and recruitment efforts, ensuring appropriate staff coverage, while tracking and monitoring daily productivity metrics

* Acts as the primary escalation and problem-solving resource for team members, surgeons, and clinic leaders.

* Provides onboarding, training and guidance to staff on best practices and assists with implementation of new procedures in complex surgery scheduling.

* Participates and leads process improvement projects.

2. SURGERY SCHEDULING

* Coordinates and assists with complex surgery scheduling in conjunction with Centralized Surgery Scheduling for hospital and ambulatory surgery center O.R.s both on campus and across system facilities.

* Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs, partnering with patient/care-giver in decision making and education.

3. DOCUMENTATION

* Ensures team members appropriately document patient encounters and surgical case detail, in alignment with department and service line procedures and expectations.

4. ANCILLARY SCHEDULING

* Schedules all the patient's ancillary appointments related to surgery as indicated in the surgery order, i.e., lab, imaging, post-op appointments, PAC visit, etc. 5%

5. PATIENT COMMUNICATION

* Provides patient surgery information to the patient (time, location, date, directions, parking, etc.) to ensure patient is ready for surgery.

6. PATIENT EDUCATION

* Provides role appropriate basic patient education on surgical procedures via phone call, mail, or other method requested by the patient

What you will need:

Associates Degree or total of 4 years of work experience in a healthcare setting may be considered in lieu of education

3 years' experience in busy setting service area requiring multi-tasking abilities and exceptional customer service skills, with a minimum 2 years in a healthcare setting.

Experience using Microsoft Office & Outlook programs.

1 year of past experience in training/onboarding of new staff.

1 year of experience with scheduling surgical procedures, medical terminology, and healthcare software (such as Epic or other electronic health record systems)

Compensation:

54,735.00 - 82,000.00 USD Annual
