POSITION

The Plus Fixed Income team is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will work with the portfolio management team, supporting the portfolio managers in the management of client accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist in day-to-day portfolio activities including monitoring cash balances and cash flow activity, maintaining portfolio database analytics, producing and distributing daily reports, and performing attribution analysis on portfolios.
  • Perform various client-facing duties including preparing reporting and marketing materials, reviewing and editing requests for proposals, and assisting relationship management team members with ad hoc client requests.
  • Work with portfolio managers, traders, and other team members on ad hoc projects as appropriate.
  • Engage daily with the firm's operations groups such as risk management, relationship management, consultant relations, performance measurement, and portfolio operations to complete routine duties and ad hoc requests.
  • Formulate and recommend ideas for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Become proficient in portfolio management systems and processes used by the Plus Fixed Income team.
  • Demonstrate consistent outstanding teamwork and communication within the team


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 1+ years of client service, client administration, accounting, or equivalent experience in the investment industry.
  • Proven success with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in crafting and running macros is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of investments or client portfolio reporting.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong independent thinking skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  • Self-starter.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Strong quantitative skills (analysis and statistics).
  • Basic understanding of fixed income securities.
  • Solid understanding of investment products, operations, and servicing requirements.
  • Experience in communicating with institutional investors, consultants, and/or internal sales.
  • Familiarity or proficiency in use of Bloomberg and/or Factset.
  • Programming and/or database management skills are a plus.
  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or Physics.
  • CFA Charter holder or have equivalent experience.
