S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our US QA department. As a Staff Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Quality Assurance organization provides a variety of services aimed at helping our internal customers, which include S&C leaders and team members, deliver superior quality to our customers. Quality planning, inspection, audit, quality information, quality improvement consulting, and quality communications are examples of the kind of services the organization provides. The Staff Manufacturing Quality Engineer is a recognized expert in manufacturing quality, driving strategic quality initiatives across the organization. This role focuses on resolving complex issues, implementing best practices, and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve high levels of quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Quality Support: Lead organization-wide initiatives to improve manufacturing quality processes, ensuring a direct positive impact to primary quality KPIs in operations.
- Complex Problem Solving: Resolve complex manufacturing quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Customer Escape Containment: Drive customer escape containment and resolution processes by implementing robust corrective actions, collaborating with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve issues, minimize recurrence, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction: Take responsibility for identifying and reducing the cost of poor quality (COPQ), including coordinating production stop and stop-ship activities, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions to enhance overall production quality.
- Documentation Review: Ensure accuracy in prints and acceptance criteria by conducting detailed reviews, addressing defects, and managing disposition and deviation processes to uphold quality standards.
- Advanced Quality Tools Implementation: Deploy advanced quality methodologies to improve manufacturing outcomes. Support operations leadership in understanding and adhering to new practices.
- Project Leadership: Manage and oversee large-scale quality improvement projects that span multiple departments.
- Quality Support & Collaboration: Provide high-level quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements. Lead the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
- Metrics & Feedback Utilization: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, driving data-driven decision-making across the company.
- Mentorship & Team Support: Coach, mentor, and delegate work to other quality engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
- Industry Trends & Innovation: Proactively monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into the company's approach to quality engineering.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed: Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Demonstrated track record of leading and successfully completing large-scale quality improvement projects. Proven ability to solve complex quality problems and implement effective process improvements.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
- Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
- Great project management skills, able to successfully lead project teams through ambiguity and constantly changing business needs.
- Sound organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
- Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Great communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles and present compelling information to achieve buy-in.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.

- Master's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ
