Overview

Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program, SRI's Microcircuit Emulation Center (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits (www.gemes.com). This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. The Microcircuit Emulation Center (MEC) is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry.

MEC is seeking a Co-op student to work with the Wafer Fab Process Engineering team. The Co-op student will work on-site at the Princeton, NJ office.



Responsibilities

    Hands-on training with semi-automatic semiconductor equipment that supports low-volume microcircuit manufacturing and development.
  • Working with process engineers to sustain, improve, optimize, develop, and integrate processes for existing and future technologies to enable yield improvement, defect reduction, improved reliability, and future technological development.
  • Working in cross functional teams (Integration, Design, and Layout) to address process issues.
  • Data collection, correlation, interpretation, and presentation of information to management and co-workers.


Qualifications

  • Current RIT undergrad student majoring in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronics, or related science field.
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing interest and desire to perform hands on work in a clean room environment for significant part of the working day.
  • Prior knowledge or experience of semiconductor processing at the Lab level is desired.

The salary range is: $20-$30/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
