Primary Purpose of Department
The Center for Integrated Care ( CIC) intentionally incorporates social work standards with student affairs principles to serve as the human link between students and resources both on and off campus. Aligned with the Health and Wellbeing unit's purpose (to instill a culture of holistic health, wellbeing and care), CIC serves as a clinical liaison that assists students by:

  • coordinating comprehensive campus and community resources,
  • providing direct continuity of care support for students navigating potentially complex elements of their care plan,
  • empowering students to initiate change through life skill and personal development,
  • encouraging students beyond their comfort zones to ensure their ability to manage their own situations and
  • providing follow-up support, including resolution, that positively impacts academic success, retention and the student experience.

    The CIC Director will join an interdependent team of departmental directors (counseling &
    psychological services, student health, wellness promotion and university recreation) and will
    shepherd a small, yet dynamic team strategically positioned to provide student-centered care,
    grounded in social work clinical case management standards. In addition to on-campus peers
    and colleagues throughout the UNC system, the director will have access to national
    organizations including but not limited to the Higher Education Case Managers Association
    (HECMA), the American College Health Association (ACHA) and the National Association of
    Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Aligned with UNC Charlotte's- Division of Student
    Affairs commitment to strategic planning, the CIC Director will receive the gift of a program
    review in consultation with the Student Affairs Research & Assessment (SARA) team; pre-
    review beginning in the Fall 2025 semester and program review occurring in 2026-2027. Based
    on those findings and aligned with the Director's vision, resources including staff can be
    strategically explored.

Primary Purpose of Position
To serve as a member of the Health and Wellbeing's leadership team, providing expertise in service delivery, policy and administration from an integrated care model.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
To provide fiscal and organizational leadership for the Center for Integrated Care, clinical case management assessment; linkage and referral to campus and community supports; consultation with faculty, staff, students, parents, and others; outreach and educational programming to the campus and local community; and supervision of professional staff.
Minimum Education/Experience

  • A Master of Social Work degree;
  • At least four years of professional experience post-licensure;
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and awareness regarding university health and wellbeing initiatives;
  • Demonstrated expertise in case management, supervision, and related administrative functions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • At least five years of experience in collegiate wellbeing, with evidence of increasing amounts of administrative and supervisory responsibility;
  • Experience, expertise, and/or interest in delivering case management services and coordinating health and wellbeing services within the campus and broader community;
  • Prior experience in college/ university wellbeing or with college-aged clinical populations;
  • Prior clinical experience using a brief therapy model or solution focused assessment; and
  • Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with collegiate counseling and psychotherapy models of student care

Necessary Certifications/Licenses
Full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW) in North Carolina, and in good standing.
