. Job Summary The Insurance Senior Consulting Product Manager has country-wide Profit and Loss accountability for assigned insurance product line(s). The role is responsible for working cross-functionally to guide the products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. The role engages with clients to maximize value delivery and resolve ambiguity, breaking down complex problems into steps that drive product development within an agile framework. The role ensures product features drive positive business value while maintaining velocity with high levels of quality. Job Responsibilities
- Owns Profit and Loss accountability for a specific insurance product line(s) and/or geographic Profit and Loss accountability for several insurance product lines across assigned states.
- Reports Profit and Loss growth performance results of assigned product(s) to key stakeholders.
- Develops and executes strategic plans for new product development, entry into new product markets, and/or enhancements to existing products.
- Coordinates implementation of product/pricing changes with other departments or groups as necessary developing both internal and external communications and working collectively to identify growth opportunities and create strategic plans to maximize such opportunities.
- Monitors growth, mix, and loss results across the country, as well as for assigned states and product lines, enabling them to quickly identify and diagnose any changes in trends, and respond accordingly.
- Achieves underwriting profit and growth objectives through product, pricing, underwriting, and other actions in close partnership with cross-functional team members.
- Drives product development within the context of the company strategy and uses an in-depth understanding of the market and the competitive environment to deliver differentiated product value.
- Interacts with customers, translating business needs into clear, prioritized, and actionable product requirements.
- Collaborates in the full product lifecycle including rapidly turning customer needs into product requirements, driving prioritization, managing launch, and taking into account post-launch feedback.
- Defines a product roadmap and manages feature releases on an iterative basis and works closely with customers, developers, designers, marketing, and sales to take ideas from concept to launch and aid in the remediation of roadblocks.
- Writes business specifications and manages system project development ensuring timely delivery, maintenance of tracking documentation, and communication within the department.
- Communicates the product vision and value proposition to the distribution organization so that the product is properly positioned for customers and agents.
- Acquires market and competitive intelligence and maintains a robust knowledge of emerging trends to effectively compete in a rapidly changing environment and shares that knowledge with the organization.
Job Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Insurance Product Management or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or any relevant field and/or commensurate experience.
- Master's degree in management or technical field is preferred.
