The MGH Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has an active and growing program in clinical and translational research. Our investigators study a variety of lung diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), pulmonary hypertension, pleural effusion and acute lung injury.
The Hariri Optical Imaging Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research group at Massachusetts General Hospital. The focus of the laboratory is on the design, development and clinical translation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) for the detection, diagnosis and monitoring of pulmonary diseases, including lung fibrosis, post-COVID lung disease, smoking and vaping-related lung diseases, lung cancer, and interstitial lung abnormalities.
A highly motivated, independent, and organized individual with an interest in medicine is sought for a Research Coordinator position. The primary role of the successful candidate will be to assist in research projects that seek to translate novel imaging and functional cardiopulmonary exercise testing for the detection, diagnosis, and assessment of pulmonary disease, including long COVID. Studies will range from pilot clinical studies and multicenter clinical studies, including participating in and assisting in the screening of potential study subjects, assistance with human subject cardiopulmonary exercise testing and optical imaging studies in the operating room and bronchoscopy suites. These responsibilities may be expanded based on the interests and career goals of the candidate. This is an ideal position for individuals looking to gain research experience in preparation for a career in medicine and/or research.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
