Associate Production Engineer

Job Summary

IFF has an opening at its Memphis, Tennessee manufacturing facility for an associate production engineer in the production group. The person in this position will provide daily execution leadership and production planning to the food ingredient operations team optimizing manufacturing performance at the Memphis site. The position is focused on driving a high level of operational execution excellence on a daily basis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct work activities and demonstrate leadership behavior consistent with IFF Core Values.
  • Use process expertise to ensure facility and personal adherence to regulatory, company policies, good manufacturing, and food safety requirements.
  • Provide operational leadership in production planning and technical troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with production management to develop production strategies and systems that improve manufacturing performance.
  • Training of production resources - build technical knowledge and demonstrate leadership.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM); Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS); and Continuous Improvement programs.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering graduating in May 2025 (Dec 2024 graduates will also be considered)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (Cumulative and Major)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with an ability to collaborate with others on different functional teams
  • Possess a strong technical aptitude for unit operations
  • No sponsorship available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Co-op/Internship experience as a process/production engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in food ingredient manufacturing or related industry
  • Experience in unit operations troubleshooting
The position requires primary work within the manufacturing environment, following all safety rules and procedures. Travel is minimal but may be required to support projects and initiatives between manufacturing sites.
